Heide Trepanier
Mall, Richmond; "New Paintings", Stefan Stux Gallery, 2004 y "Altered
Interiors", Second Street Gallery, Virginia, 2004.
The compositions

human nature: desire, destruction, perversity, envy. The biomorphic stains
that develop and breath on a monochrome background acting as screen or stage,
are a result of the dripping that Trepanier then goes on to model and direct
until she achieves the desire shapes and scenography. She paints as though
she were a choreographer or director: once these organic forms are conceived
and placed where she wants them, they interact among each other like actors
narrating stories which are open due to their abstraction. These continuously
changing shapes show on their skin the “faults” in the painting
(cracks and imperfections), as though they were living things in continuous
evolution. The viscosity of their forms accentuates this type of passion,
and we do not know how they are going to evolve from one moment to another.
