Laylah Ali, Marcel Dzama, T. J. Wilcox:The Storytellers
“The Storytellers”, es una propuesta que reúne a tres artistas internacionales de diversas procedencias e identidades: Laylah Ali, Marcel Dzama y T.J. Wilcox.
Es una exposición dedicada al dibujo, las obras presentadas nos transportan a un mundo infantil que nos recuerda a las ilustraciones realizadas para los niños cuya finalidad es la diversión, pero al mismo tiempo, gracias a un corte sarcástico y crítico, estos artistas se nos presentan como unos comunicadores de la realidad.
Marcel Dzama realiza sus obras en lápiz y acuarela sobre papel Manila. Sus dibujos nos presentan un mundo de ambigüedad en los que mezcla y hace que coexistan seres humanos, animales e híbridos en una paleta de colores que se repite y que le caracteriza.
En el caso de Laylah Ali nos encontramos frente a sujetos sociopolíticos tratado de manera sutil e impersonal, retratados en unas ocasiones con trajes arcaicos o contemporáneos. Con sus dibujos que recuerdan a viñetas de Cómic llenos de colores.
Por otra parte el trabajo de T.J. Wilcox, sugiere un cambio en el equilibrio de los sentidos transmitiendo al espectador una sugestiva estética, fríamente interrogativa, escéptica y cínica que representa la particular reflexión del artista respecto a las ideas actuales.

“The Storytellers”, is a proposal which gathers the work of three international artists from different origins: Laylah Ali, Marcel Dazma y T.J. Wilcox.
The exhibition is dedicated to drawing, the work presented takes us to a childish world that can remind us of the illustrations made for children who have the desire to play, but at the same time, due to a sarcastic and critical cut, these artist present themselves as communicators of reality.
Marcel Dzama creates his work in pencil and watercolour on “Manila paper”. His drawings present us a world of ambiguity in which he makes a mixture of human beings, animals and hybrids in a colour palette that repeats itself and is characteristic on his work.
In Laylah Ali’s case we find ourselves in front of socio-political characters treated in a subtle and impersonal manner, sometimes portrayed wearing archaic or contemporary costumes.
On the other hand, the work of T.J Wilcox, suggests a change in our senses balance, transmitting to the spectator a suggestive aesthetic, interrogative, sceptical and cynical point of view, which represents the particular artist’s reflection on actual ideas
