Os Gemeos: Sonhei Que Tinha Sonhado
La Galería Pilar Parra & Romero se complace en presentar la primera exposición de “Os Gemeos” en Madrid.
Estos artistas y a la vez hermanos gemelos, Otavio y Gustavo Pandolfo (de ahí su nombre “Os Gemeos” en Portugués) llegan a la Galería tras conseguir un gran éxito, por su creativa e imaginativa obra. Empezando como grafiteros, han conseguido dar el salto desde el arte realizado en las calles hasta incluir su obra en museos y galerías de todo el mundo.
Sus orígenes están totalmente latentes en su obra, su ciudad natal Sao Paulo, les sirve de inspiración. Las tradiciones y mitos Brasileños, las historias familiares y la gente que les rodea son algunos de los temas que envuelven su obra.
Su obra es fácilmente reconocible ya que dentro de su estilo figurativo mantienen una serie de pautas visibles en todas ellas, ya sean en lienzo, papel o instalación. Lo más característico son los rostros amarillos de sus personajes, unos rostros que suelen ser de grandes proporciones, muy expresivos, que varían de unos a otros.
Grandes esculturas e impresionantes instalaciones realizadas en madera que nos muestran imágenes que se intercalan con objetos del hogar (puertas, ventanas, utensilios de cocina).

Otavio and Gustavo Pandolfo started out in graffiti art, painting the streets of their hometown Sao Paolo and now museums and galleries around the world have representations of their art.
Their roots and cultural heritage are present in every expression from traditions to myths, family stories and regular people are their central themes, they try to exposescenes from every day life fusing it with the favelas landscapes showing an emotional side of the Brazilian society.
They keep certain coherence in their visual aesthetics even when using different media such as canvas, paper or installations: the use of yellow and red along with other bright colours, rich visual language were big yellow faces with un-expressive eyes are a predominant feature that is present in everyone of their characters without much change from one to another.
Little beings singing at the command of our hands, household objects (doors, windows, kitchen utensils) are all incorporated in impressive sculptures and installations stating a social opinion about what they have seen and lived throughout their life.
