La galería de arte Pilar Parra & Romero se complace en presentar la primera exposición en España de Nathan Carter. Bajo el ingenioso título “1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, eleven, twelve”, el artista norteamericano desembarca en España con su obra más reciente y con cinco jóvenes artistas que, inspirándose en su obra, despliegan un proyecto multidisciplinar con el que tratan de descifrar las claves del mundo moderno y la relación que, en él, operan las prácticas artísticas.
En algún lugar entre narración y abstracción, su lenguaje visual emerge de la síntesis de referencias geográficas imaginarias y fragmentos abstractos, que evocan la densidad informativa de los medios de comunicación masiva, las claves de los acontecimientos geopolíticos no resueltos y la caótica intersección de las comunicaciones, así como sus diferentes vías de transmisión.
Las piezas de madera talladas y pintadas intensamente se confunden en un laberinto de líneas, formas oblicuas, letras y diagramas, con las que el artista interroga a su obra sobre la materialidad del tiempo y contrapone el espacio intangible por el que transitan las comunicaciones con la corporeidad de sus propias instalaciones. Esta original propuesta le ha conferido, una trayectoria innegable por su originalidad e innovación

The art gallery Pilar Parra & Romero is pleased to present the first exhibition in Spain of Nathan Carter, which open on Tuesday, February 13 at 21h (the night before the inauguration of ARCO'07). Under the witty title "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, eleven, twelve," the American artist lands in Spain with his more recent work and with five young artists who, inspired by his work, deploying a multidisciplinary project.
Somewhere in between narration and abstraction, its visual language emerges from the synthesis of geographic references imaginary and abstract pieces, evoking the density of the mass media briefing, the keys to the unresolved geopolitical events and the chaotic intersection of communications, and as their different routes of transmission.
